I received an e-mail today from CraftBeer.com with links to their new interactive style guides. The guides are pretty nice and very informative. However, how does this info relate to the new BJCP guides?
CraftBeer.com doesn't ever reference BJCP category numbers with their data. Does anyone know if this is totally independent of the new 2014/2015 BJCP styles? A quick look through the draft of the 2014 BJCP styles shows the CraftBeer.com categories to be very different.
It seems to me that having two different style guides is going to cause confusion. Or is it just me that's confused??

Re: CraftBeer.com Interactive Style Guides vs BJCP
It can be somewhat confusing when you try to compare the Craft Beer styles against the BJCP guidelines. The main difference is that the Craft Beer style guidelines are targeted at craft breweries and those are the guidelines that are used when judging commercial competitions. The BJCP guidelines are aimed at home brewers and home brew competitions. It would be nice if there was a unified style guide, but I don't think that is going to happen any time soon since the Brewers Association likes to have a clear delineation between home brew and craft brew.
