For this competition, all participants will be brewing a scaled-down clone recipe of Beachwood Brewing Amalgamator West Coast IPA. We have always wanted to do a competition where all the participants brewed the same recipe so I figured why not make the recipe one of our favorite local year round IPA's. We feel this recipe is really close to the original and we try and always have Amalgamator in stock if you want to try the beer you are aiming to make. Entering our competition with this unique format will give everyone an even playing field, so we can truly see who the best homebrewer in OC is! We will have a 5 gallon Amalgamator clone recipe for both All Grain and Extract at both shops

As of today (Saturday, May 8th), you can go into either of our locations and tell the friendly staff that you would like to enter the competition and they will get your ingredients for the recipe, and give you an entry form to fill out. There is no entry fee, all you have to do is come in to either shop to get your recipe, and you will get a 10% discount on the batch just for entering the competition. Once that entry form is filled out, we will assign you an ID# that you will use when dropping off your bottles to be judged. We will require 2x 12oz bottles for judging. After the drop-off window has ended, the entries will be judged by a panel of BJCP Certified judges, as well as local professional brewers
