Oktoberfest
I used the BMBs Oktoberfest recipe for an Oktoberfest beer. The brewer estimated the OG to be 1,055. I hit 1,054. I have fermented with WLP029. FG ends slightly low near 1.010 with FG estimated at 1,014. It still seems to have some good Oktoberfest flavor. Can't wait to see how cold and carbonated it reads.

Re: Oktoberfest
Welcome Caramon. Brad's recipes are pretty tried and true, so you're probably looking at a pretty good beer.
Re: Oktoberfest
Hey Caramon,
Nice job hitting the OG. I would attribute the lower FG to your yeast selection. The Kolsch yeast tends to attenuate a little more than many of the German lager yeasts. The best test once It is cold and carbonated is the taste-test. But if you choose to take more measurements make sure to degas the sample, the added CO2 will only throw off your results.
If you are in the area check where our July meeting will be once it is posted, and bring a sample of your beer. Prost!

Cool. Guess its lager season. Hope to see you at a meeting then.
