If we are opening it up I've got some beers ready to go, I was online to be a judge but I think I'll step aside
Re: AHP competition - August
Now we're talking. It looks like there is going to be quite a few entries.

Re: AHP competition - August
Is this competition open to all, because I have an amber ready for judging?
If so, where do I drop my beer off?

How lenient is this? If my wife makes a run up to Glendora tomorrow or Wednesday, dropping them off early wouldn't be an issue, right?oc eric wrote:Entries must be dropped off August 19th-22nd
(Alternatively, if anyone in South OC is going up that way and can take entries, let me know).

Brian, very lenient. I'm closed on Tues/Wed though. You can drop it off with either of my neighbors though...bwarbiany wrote:How lenient is this? Re: AHP competition - August
This was a TOUGH competition. There were a couple of stellar beers and only one "less than perfect" entry.
The competiton gets tougher each month so be sure not to miss the next one. Also, the judging scoresheets get better and better. Without further ado, the winners are:
3rd place goes to John Ward for his Kolsch
2nd place goes to Jeff Burton for his 1554 Clone ("Belgium Black IPA" - I think that was it)
And the WINNER is... (drum roll)...
Scott Bennett for his India Pale Ale (IPA)
Scott's IPA was a somewhat dark, slightly malty, well bittered masterpiece. It really blew the judges away. We kept pouring sample after sample and afterwards finished the bottle (22 oz). Well done Scott ! You can claim your AHP T shirt at your convienence.
Everyone will receive 3 or 4 scoresheets per entry. Thank You for particpating and look forward to next month's competition.
Judges were: Robert Kennedy, Scott Bennett, Daniel Fernandez and Eric Addison
