I rarely check FG on my beers, but I happened to pull a pint of my IPA while I was brewing the other day, so I figured I'd check it with the refractometer since I had it handy.
OG of the IPA was 1.066.
Recipe was 85% 2-row, 7.5% C15L, 7.5% Vienna. Undershot mash temp, was in the mid-high 140's. Fermented with 3 packs (in 10 gal) of US-05, properly rehydrated.
Measured FG with the refractometer (carbonated beer): 7.8 Brix
The Beersmith refractometer tool tells me this is a [corrected] FG of 1.009!
AA: 85%
Real Attenuation: 68.77%
Do these numbers make sense? I know there's some question as to the reliability of a refractometer when there is alcohol in solution, and I've had generally good clean ferments on a regular basis, but it still seems that 85% AA is high...

Sounds about right to me with US-05 and a 145-148 mash temp...

Although at 7.4% ABV, and tasting as nicely as it does, it can get a bit dangerous!
