Hello everybody!

Post by Greywolf »

Hello everyone!
Just joined the forum today... been extract brewing for six months and will be AGin' for the first time tomorrow. So far I have 5 batches under my belt: "Oldcaster brown" from O'sheas ... meh... my first brew

Since then,
CA Common (John Palmer's recipe in How to Brew)
Double IPA (clone-ish of Stone Ruination)
Belgian trappist (kitchen sink approach, with some coriander and sweet orange peel... oh and 2 lbs of honey at end of primary) (1 gal aging on toasted oak) OG: 1.106, FG: 1.014
Northern English Brown

All have been 5 gal.

And for my first AG... oatmeal stout. Looking forward to the upgrade!

I went with the 10 gal Rubbermaid MT/LT with a 5 gal Rubbermaid HLT
I have an 11 gal stainless BK with spigot (Bayou Classic)

Hope to pick up some great info and meet some great people.

Awesome Greywolf, welcome to the forum! You'll have to let us know how your first AG brewday goes.

If you're in/near Orange County, CA we have a club meeting on the 17th at Out of the Park Pizza that you should check out. You can see more details in the Calendar link at the top of the site.

Thanks for the welcome!

I am in the OC area, Westminster to be exact. I will try to make it out there. I am heading to Vegas the next day, so it might not be in the cards, but I will try to get there.

Who... me? muahahaha :p

well... the oatmeal stout sparged nicely, no issues... the one issue, I don't have a scale and kinda used 12 or 13 lbs of 2 row instead of 9...
my pre boil gravity was 1.073....
