Post by Justin H »

http://competitions.maltosefalcons.com/

There’s still time to enter this “local” competition if anyone is interested. As of this posting there are only 36 entries. You must register online. Beer is to be shipped or dropped off by 01/11/2019, so you still have 1 week.

Ship entries to:
Maltose Falcons
22836 Ventura Blvd #2, Woodland Hills, CA 91364

Entry drop off:
Steinfillers Homebrew Shop
4160 Norse Way Long Beach, CA 90808
(562) 425-0588

Remember the Maltose Falcons use their own style guide found at http://www.maltosefalcons.com/comps/sty ... guidelines.
The following information comes from their site.

7. Only entries that fall under lager, specialty categories or meads will be accepted for this competition (Classes 1,2,9,10,14,15,24,25,26, 30,31)

8. Special category Class 30.1 - Session Challenge. These are beers with an OG less than 1.040.

9. Special category Class 30.2 - Imperial Anything. The requirement for the class is that the beer must have an OG of 1.080 or above. Base "Inspiration" class should be provided to allow accurate and fair judging.

10. Special Category -31- English/Irish/Scottish “The British are coming!” This category is open to any beer, standard or experimental, that has its origins in England, Scotland or Ireland. The winner of this category will have their beer brewed with MacLeods Brewery in Van Nuys CA. The rules are simple, your OG should be under 1.080, and no sours or bretts. We are looking for a beer that is 9% abv or below.

I took a 3rd place finish in the English Porter style category. Waiting to see the scoresheets.
I have not yet begun to defile myself.
