Keggle conversion tips

Post by kevinham »

I am going to be converting an old keg into a kettle, and was looking for tips on installing the valve and pickup tube. I know there are a lot of different places for this info online, but I have seen lots of different methods of doing it, and want to see if you have any first-hand insight on this. I am looking for pointers on where to place the valve (how high up), where the dip tube should go inside (middle, edge, etc), and if there are any other DOs or DON'Ts you guys could throw at me.

The best thing to do is take your keg and a 6-pack of your best to Lars and ask him to help! He's converted quite a few and really has it down.
