Who's Brewing??!

Post by backyard brewer »

Yeah!! I looks like we'll run a test batch on the new brewery this Sunday! Whoo Hoo! I don't have any of the automation yet but everything else should be in working order. We're either going to do a CAP or vanilla porter since I have all those fresh beans.

Anyone else brewing this weekend?

I'll be brewing a brown ale this weekend, I know BIG surprize, Lars is brewing a brown ale... but I'm trying out a new recipe so this one will be a bit different! I'm having to be very flexible with my hop selection, and possibly my speciality grain selection... B3 was out of Cara Pils this week  Anyone have a pound or so?

Don't have any extra, but I know Steinfiller's has some because we bought some last week. There hop selection is looking great right now too.

We are going to try to brew an Imperial Cream Ale this sunday.

I have plenty. You can have a couple pounds. The problem is how to get it to you.

Awesome! I brewed a cream ale last year that ended up at something like 7% After aging for a few months it was very good and very dangerous!

Hmmm. Maybe we can work something out. I'm not sure if I'll be brewing on Friday or Saturday. When things get firmed up I'll give you a call.

My plan is to brew on Tuesday. I won't have time this weekend. I have my b-day party on Friday. Going to USC game on Saturday. I have a bunch of work to get done by Monday, so Sunday is out.

I'm going to brew a single hop APA with my home grown hops from last year - Cascade. Hops in the mash, at 60 minutes and 10 minutes. 9 ounces for 10 gallons. Should be interesting since I have no idea what the alpha is on these. Just thought it would be a fun experiment. Simple grain bill - 2-row and crystal 40. Shooting for a 1.052 OG.

I have some Carapils if you need it. I also have a fresh pitch of S04 if you want it.

I am kegging ten gallons of fruit witbier on Friday and brewing on Sunday. Don't know exactly what I am brewing, but seeing that Tim has some fresh S-04 on hand may have just affected my decision...

Happy Thanksgiving guys!

Cheers!

I'll be brewing 10G of IPA this Friday. Dead simple recipe: 2-row, c-40, and centennial.

I've got some carapils, at least a pound or two if you still need it.

Hey Guys,

Sorry I was out hunting over the Thanksgiving weekend in scenic Yuma, Arizona. We got some pheasant, quail and rabbit along the way so we had a pretty good time.

Cheers,

Oskaar
