new to the forums
I am new to the forums here but have been on the midwest forums for 3 years or so. I am from Cypress and have brewed approximately 50 extract batches and have 90% of my all grain equipment and am getting ready to make the jump. I even have ingredients for my first all grain batch. Currently I have 5 gal of sweet mead, and 5 gal of porter going. Planning on brewing a belgian wit this weekend. anyhow. Hi.

Welcome Jeremy! Good luck on going all grain. The majority of us here brew all grain so if you have any questions fire away and we'll do our best to answer them.
Cheers!

Welcome aboard!
When you're done with your first AG batch, you'll be like, "that's all there was to it?!?!"

Re: new to the forums
When and where are the brew meetings? Does everyone bring beer? I know that long beach does them at stein fillers on the second tuesday of the month. I have read more books than I could list about brewing and am very confident that I will have no problem. All i need now is a brew kettle and I have all my equipment.

Here are the meeting minutes from the January meeting:
January 2009 Meeting Minutes:
The 11 Attendees Were:
John - welcome
Jeremy
Brad
John and Mary
Robert
Tim
Kevin
J.D. (one of these days I'll get a name out of him)
Derrin and Bertie
General Discussion included:
Revisions to the by-laws giving the Executive Committee more room to make decisions of lesser magnitude without requiring a vote from the general membership.
A new Calendar function to be implemented on the web site.
An Articles page - post a useful project or process.
Club Brew Day at The Bruery - Per the voting response and discussion, it will be Sunday March 29th at The Bruery.
Extras:
The Meeting also included a good Q & A with Alcatraz head brewer Rob . He's a no nonsense guy with a lot of knowledge and a solid method. Editor's note: I did the sample taster at their bar and was impressed with the overall quality of the beer. This place hadn't even been on my radar.
Robert (aka Brew Captain Crunch) finished up our meeting with a very excellent presentation on Weiss beers. He brought around 10 different beers from Germany, base/specialty malts and multi-page color handouts for all.
Homebrew tasted:
Kevin/J.D - Imperial Cream Ale and Spiced Weizenbock
Jon - Pale Ale (batch 01)
John - Porter/Stout Hybrid
Tim - English Pale
Brad - Jack shit (way to set an example Mr. President)
A big thanks to our contributors and I hope that more will be able to make it in March, tentatively scheduled for St. Patrick's Day (3/17)
Cheers!
