Post'm if you got'm...
Porter & stout I hold dear,
Old ales & bock kept quite near.
Holiday grog pours,
Christmas spirit soars,
My malty salve, silent cheer.

Water, barley, yeast & hops,
Sublimes my mind into knots.
Once more a tasting,
No time awasting,
Strains my conscience 'til its shot.

When are you going to actually post a haiku?

Being an overachiever, I embellished and built-upon haiku and took it to something uber ...
Looks like I crossed haiku, waka and limericks!! I blame my muse:
Hibernation Old Ale - Great Divide Brewing.

Awesome one Brent!!
I think I owe everyone a real haiku...
Twisted wire cage,
Fat cork and foil wreckage,
Belgian bliss Noel.

From a literary friend at work, an ode to the Chili Pepper Ale!
Roasted Serranos,
Habaneros, Anaheims.
Chile brew- warm heart
The Jalapenos didn't quite fit the mold, but they will be in the beer...

Through the long work days
My mind is lost, just thinking
Of homebrew, waiting.

I'm a literary simpleton ...
I never "got" haiku ... still don't.
Give me a limerick any day
There once was a man from Nantucket
Who drank all of his beer from a bucket
He tried with a hose
Stuck up his nose
But his mouth was the best way to suck it.
(Had to change it to something appropriate
)

I'm glad I wasn't the only one.
